Angel Paris Indonesian Wedding Kebaya

These kebaya pengantin (traditional wedding costumes) along with western wedding dresses are available for rent from Butik Angel Paris here, a bridal boutique based in Indonesia. This gold dress is a little unusual in that it incorporates a train into the kebaya top.

Unlike most western wedding dresses, the dresses worn on Malay weddings are very colorful and the groom’s outfit will usually match the colours and style of the bride’s costume. In Singapore and Malaysia, the whole extended family of the bride/groom would sometimes wear traditional clothes in a matchy-matchy color scheme on the wedding day. :)  Green beaded top looks gorgeous paired with a batik sarong.

White is commonly worn too — brides are usually (though not always) dressed in an all-white ensemble for the marriage solemnization ceremony.

Love the back neckline detail of the dress below.
