I have a confession to make — most of the time I do agree with the mantra “the longer the better”. Yup, I have a soft spot for long veils (and long gown trains). Yeah, yeah, a little impractical in hot weather, I know.
A floor-length veil is called a Chapel veil. It is considered a formal veil, and is appropriate for semi-formal and formal weddings. This veil sweeps the floor and may be a few inches or more past the train. Anything longer than a Chapel veil is called Cathedral veil, the longest of veils. It can trail a few metres behind the bride and is the most formal type of veil.
But this veil classification only holds true for Western weddings. As you may have observe, we gasak wedding veil lengths according to the style of the costume, not the formality of the event.
The top one with flowers is just so pretty! The one below can cover my jiggly arms!
I really like this the one below but have to rethink my choice when someone remarked that it looks like “caterpillars stuck on a fisherman’s net.” Boo hoo!
